Strategic thinking, considered craft and 25+ years of real-world design.
Red5 Creative sits deliberately between independent freelance designers and large corporate brand agencies: strategically minded, deeply experienced and professional, while remaining personal, accessible and directly involved in every single project.
Direct principal involvement. No account layers.
When you engage Red5 Creative, you work directly with Matt Trapp from the initial discovery workshop to final delivery.
With more than two and a half decades in branding, visual identity, print, and digital design, Matt has developed creative for both global household names—including Tesco and Bridgestone—and established Australian businesses seeking to transform their market perception.
A Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design) graduate from the University of South Australia, Matt's philosophy combines strategic brand fundamentals with meticulous typographic craft. His goal is to help established enterprises realise their true commercial value and stand proudly apart from category competitors.
Why "Red5"?
In a subtle nod to his lifelong fascination with technology, film and storytelling, Matt named the studio after Luke Skywalker's X-wing callsign in Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope.
In the pivotal Battle of Yavin, when the call went out across the fleet, the reply was simple and resolute: "Red Five, standing by." It represented readiness, focused precision, and making the critical shot count when everything was on the line.
That same mindset drives the studio today: focused, calm, highly disciplined, and completely dedicated to helping clients hit their commercial target without unnecessary noise or bloated agency layers.
